Ricardo Alcántara is an Uruguayan writer and one of the foremost authors of children's literature in Spanish. His best-known books include Un cabello azul, Un cuento grande como una casa, Carne y uña, and Qué quieren los viejos. He has received various awards for his work, including the prestigious Serra d'Or, the Premio Austral Infantil, the Lazarillo, and the Apel-les Mestres. Juan Ramón Alonso is a Spanish artist and illustrator. He holds a degree from the Facultad de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid. He is currently a professor at that institution and at the Centro Español de Nuevas Profesiones. He began his career as an illustrator for newspapers and magazines before working with various publishers. His awards include the Premio Austral Infantil, the Premio CCEI, and the Premio Internacional de Ilustración from the Fundación Santa María. He is also a five-time finalist for the Premio Nacional de Ilustración.
