Santali is a very old and rich language. It has been included in the 8th Schedule of Indian Constitution in the year 2003. It has been observed that a very few works have been done towards the upliftment
of the language. Among many reasons, ignorance of the native speakers of the language is the main reason. Anyway, the importance of teaching grammar in Santali language is an ongoing debate. Where
on one hand theorists and practitioners have felt that its significance in language learning cannot be mitigated, on the other hand it is seen as nothing but a set of arbitrary rules and merely an exercise in naming
parts of a sentence; something that can easily be done away with. This Book deals with the following basic subjects - Santali Alphabet; Importance of Diacritical Marks in Santali; Definition of Grammar; Noun; Pronoun; Adjective; Adverb; Verb; Conjunctions; Particles; Interjection; Punctuation and the use of Capital letters; Homography; and Homonyms.
