Ovid in French examines the ways Ovid's diverse ?uvre has been translated, rewritten, adapted, and responded to by French and Francophone women. The chapters bring an array of critical approaches to bear on a range of authors from the Renaissance to the present. This edited volume ambitiously spans a huge field: how, from the Renaissance to the present, women authors - and one gender-non-conforming author - responded directly and indirectly in French to Ovid's poetry in their own writings.
