Beauty and the Beast is one of the most popular Perrault fairy tales, but somewhat more special than the other stories. The reason why this story is a bit more special is that the love between the two main characters happened gradually, not at first sight which is uncommon for fairy tales, especially the ones Perrault wrote. Beauty and the Beast were friends at first and, after some time, their friendship developed into true and pure love. It is important to note that Beauty was attracted by the kindness of the Beast and all of the attention he gave to her, nor his appearance. And this is the important message the author tried to teach children. This story notes what matters. After all, when we love someone, he/she is beautiful to us no matter how he/she looks.
