Becoming a mentee or a mentor is an art, not just a science. As an anonymous author once said, "The truth is that most people never start because they don't want to be seen starting at the bottom. Don't be like most people."
Understanding the essence of being a mentee lies in comprehending the person from whom you're learning. It involves observing how individuals challenge themselves to enhance or transform their lives, recognizing that self-realization is a long-term endeavor. It often takes years to establish the right chemistry or connection with others or situations to initiate the process of change. Self-reflection on our identity and needs from others is an ongoing journey. For me, seeking mentoring is a constant pursuit because I am always evolving. What I seek in others, I must also be ready to embody. Setting goals is crucial; the outdated notion that others will work harder on your aspirations than you will is no longer valid.
