Rudy Apodaca lives with his wife in his native state of New Mexico. A trial attorney for twenty-two years, he began his judicial career on the New Mexico Court of Appeals, where he served for almost fourteen years. Since his retirement from the court, he has divided his time between mediation/arbitration work and his writing. Aside from publishing various articles and essays, he published a novel, The Waxen Image, in 1977. He's presently working on a novel about the 200th Coast Artillery, a New Mexico National Guard unit that fought in the Pacific before its capture by the Japanese on the Bataan Peninsula.
