Callista Newman is excited as the train pulls into Elm Springs, her new home. She has accepted a job teaching and is eager to begin. As everyone exits the train, she looks around for the sheriff or mayor, who were to meet her at the train depot. Unfortunately, the only two men who greet her are strangers who try to cart her off. As they are about to drag her from the train depot, a local man, Victor Moreland, comes to her rescue. Once the two men are in jail and she is safe again, Vic helps her sort out the problem with the sheriff, escorts her to the hotel, and shows her around town. He helps her get acclimated to a new town and turns out to be a good friend. Instead of running off when he learns of her past, they become closer. When he has an intruder on his land, will she be able to return the favor and help him?
