Catriona Ward was born in Washington, DC, and grew up in the US, Kenya, Madagascar, Yemen and Morocco. She read English at the University of Oxford and spend several years working as an actor in New York. She is the bestselling author of Looking Glass Sound, Sundial and The Last House on Needless Street, which was both a Richard and Judy Book Club and BBC2 Between the Covers Book Club pick. She has won the Shirley Jackson Award and is the only woman to win the August Derleth Award for Best Horror Novel three times. She divides her time between Los Angeles and London.
