Dr Kirren Schnack is a University of Oxford-trained Clinical Psychologist and author. Over the past two decades, she has worked in mental health services with children and adults, including inpatient and outpatient NHS departments, and in the Law Courts. Her first book, Ten Times Calmer (September 2023), was born out of the surge in anxiety noted during the pandemic and was written to meet that demand. Her second book, Tools for Life: Ten Essential Therapy Skills Everyone Should Know (January 2025), is a game-changer, showing readers how to stop being defined by their past and break free from patterns that hold them back. You can’t escape yourself, and you can’t escape other people, this book shows you how to navigate both with confidence and clarity.
Knowing the profound impact mental health has on every aspect of our lives, Dr Kirren works tirelessly to reach a global audience. She brings her expertise to TikTok as a Clinician Council Member, working on government campaigns to improve public health. She is also a creator on TikTok and Instagram (@drkirren) and works with YouTube Health to share accessible, evidence-based mental health content, empowering her 750k+ followers to take charge of their well-being.
Through her work with the World Health Organization’s FIDES program, which counters health-related misinformation and empowers the public to make evidence-based decisions, she has spoken about mental health at the United Nations World Health Assembly. She was also invited to speak about mental health at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Dr Kirren has appeared on the BBC, including the show Anxiety and Me, she regularly contributes on radio, and is frequently featured in the press as a mental health expert. |
