Zusammenfassung

"Do Not Resuscitate - An inventive combination of high-stakes hospital drama mixed with supernatural horror, fueled by a terrifying villain from beyond the grave who turns a medical intern's life upside down with his nefarious plan to get revenge for his own death." -Erik Bork, author, screenwriter on HBO's Band of Brothers and From the Earth to the Moon Some hospitals heal the sick. This one feeds on them. Dr. Harry Lindmark is barely surviving his internship when patients begin dying in ways no one can explain. Wrong medications appear. Allergies vanish from records overnight. Orders surface under the names of doctors long dead. The kind of errors that end careers, and somehow they keep happening on his watch. But something darker is at work beneath the surface. The hospital is old, crumbling, and wrong in ways Harry cannot yet name. Cold air arrives without reason. Figures appear in corridors that no one else will acknowledge. The dead, it seems, never really left this place, and they are learning. As the body count climbs and the walls between the living and the dead grow thin, Harry discovers the horror does not live only in the shadows. It lives inside the very systems every doctor trusts without question. In a place where the computers know more than the physicians and one altered record can kill, the most terrifying thing is not what lurks in the dark. It is how long it has been waiting for you to look away.

Scott Eveloff, MD, is a pulmonary physician with thirty years of experience treating seriously ill patients. He has appeared on The Dr. Oz Show, ABC's 20/20, and Inside Edition. His insider's knowledge of the many ways to harm patients in today's hospitals as there are to heal them prompted his debut novel.Dr. Eveloff is an exercise fanatic, alternating between weightlifting and aerobics. He loves to travel but hates cruises and can often be found attending concerts of his favorite (aging) musicians. He is enjoying retirement with his supportive physician wife. Spending time resuscitating plot lines instead of patients, he remains motivated by the comforting recollections of growing up and by his late son Andrew, whose boundless enthusiasm lives forever like the characters he inspired.
