Roman Polanski was born in Paris in 1933. Winner of numerous awards at Cannes, Berlin, and Venice, he is one of the most acclaimed filmmakers of his generation. He has directed some forty films, including The Fearless Vampire Killers, Rosemary's Baby, Chinatown, Tess, The Pianist, The Ghost Writer, and An Officer and a Spy. He published Roman by Polanski in 1984.
