Now that she's engaged to Theodore, Evelyn is hard at work trying to learn everything she needs to learn in order to be a good countess. Or she would be-if her tutors would actually teach her anything! Instead of telling her what she's doing wrong and helping her improve, Evelyn's tutors all declare her perfect and leave before she has the chance to learn. Theodore doesn't seem to understand her plight, and Kira is the only one who will be honest with her.

Needing space, Evelyn decides to leave the Manilas estate for a bit to visit a nearby lake. There, she encounters someone quite unexpected-Europa's mother and Theodore's aunt, Duchess Mamaropa Caté. Drawn to the duchess's elegance and kindness, Evelyn hopes to learn from her, but can she really? She feels completely out of her element.

Meanwhile, back at the Manilas estate, Theodore finds a note from Evelyn explaining her absence and gets the wrong idea completely...
