Tom Sykes is the author of seven books. His reportage and travel writing have appeared in
New Statesman, the
Independent, the
Scotsman,
New Internationalist and numerous other titles all over the world. He is Associate Professor in Creative Writing and Global Journalism at the University of Portsmouth and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
