Sheri Jones is an unlikely author of a book about a spiritual journey with horses. Her spiritual expansion didn't begin until her mid-40s when she took her fi rst horseback riding lesson along the central coast of California. Sheri didn't experience a lightning-bolt moment of clarity the first time she threw her leg over a kind lesson horse. Instead, it grew persistently, not steadily. As an over-functioning Air Force offi cer and attorney, and mom to two adopted children, Sheri lived in her head, not her body. That changed when she retired and started hearing what her horse, Spirit, was telling her about her true self. After living in seven diff erent states, Sheri and her family reside in central Alabama on a 30-acre farm with four horses, two dogs, two cats, surrounded by nature.
