Responding to a threatening summons from the Empress, the royal family of Koric sets sail for the Imperial City. However, their journey is cut short when a dragon destroys their ship. The queen's three daughters and House Guard Ro barely escape and are set adrift. The girls wash ashore far from home, lost and alone.
Ro must now escort the princesses to the Imperial City, although she doesn't know where it is or how to get there. She doesn't even have shoes, weapons, or the basic survival knowledge required to keep them alive in the wilderness.
When they are joined by an apprentice priest, a mysterious warrior named Bazin, and his pet lemur, Ro becomes more suspicious than grateful.
