He joined the Navy at 18 and is proud of having served his country during the Vietnam War. His life work was in the commercial construction industry and he dabbled a bit with writing during his working years. But it wasn't until he retired that he wrote and published his first book, Red Dirt, based loosely on his experiences in special services in Vietnam. His second book, while not a sequel, does revisit characters and settings from his first novel. He is married and lives in sunny Florida.
