The book, An Encyclopedia of Nature Poems is a collection of work of Durga Madiraju. This book is Part 2 of, 'An Encyclopedia of Nature Poems' by Jane Summers. The author combined 21 volumes of poetry classics into a single book of Poetry Classics. This book can be used as an encyclopedia, for reference of poems of nature. The author provides a discussion on different aspects of nature such as seasons, trees, flowers and relates it to changes in colors of seasons for similarity or comparison purposes such as for flowers, buds, trees, art, and others. The poems end on a note of joy or happiness, a wish for something, or a goal to attain.
The author highlights summer as a theme in her book seasonal woods and summer woods. The poems nestling hills, wind song, Wind song, the geese at lake, Twilight foods, summer kids, Autumn Ivy, etc. all have a moral value behind them, a positive outcome, a need to be better, to be part of a rich heritage.
The author states " Nature is a mind's way of expanding and displaying creativity and can unfold in the form of poetry, story, or through other forms of art. All poems have a theme that helps bring out the different aspects of nature such as in, reflection of seasons, perceptions of life's encounters which may lead to a different re-think through time. The poems always show a theme of transition from a day of nothing to a day of promise, from a day of sadness to a day of happiness.

The author also composed musical songs on piano from her poetry, and created musical albums based on her books Seasonal Woods, Summer Woods, Autumn Woods and Winter Woods. Her most recent albums are Seasonal Summers and Autumn Sacred.
