Martha LaGuardia-Kotite, Captain, USCG (ret), is active on the lecture circuit as an author, TEDx and keynote speaker, and coach for Fortune 100 and 500 companies. She is a retired captain in the U.S. Coast Guard and author of five books, including So Others May Live: Coast Guard Rescue Swimmers Saving Lives, Defying Death. She is also one of the first female officers to serve aboard two Coast Guard cutters with all-male crews and lead teams through numerous disasters during her twenty-nine-year career. She earned a master's degree in journalism from Harvard University and writes stories and profiles for magazines. She is regularly invited to podcasts and book events and has appeared on Fox & Friends, FOX, CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, and affiliates. She lives in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
