Stand-up comedian Jenny Eclair was the first woman to win the Perrier Award, the UK's top comedy award, in 1995. Since then, Jenny has taken multiple shows on tour around the country, most recently Jokes, Jokes, Jokes (the live version of her 'very funny' autobiography).
Jenny is well known for her starring role on BBC One's Grumpy Old Women which ran for three series and was then adapted into four live shows touring across the UK and Australia, all of which Jenny co-wrote (with Judith Holder) and starred in. Continuing her partnership with Judith, producer of Grumpy Old Women, Jenny co-hosts Older and Wider, the podcast for people who don't know what a podcast is - a weekly ramble about life, with additional swearing.
She is also the writer of the much-loved BBC Radio Four Little Lifetimes monologues which ran for seven series. Jenny was a contestant on series fifteen of Taskmaster (Channel 4) and currently hosts the spin-off podcast Taskmaster: The People's Podcast.
Jenny is a critically acclaimed author with seven novels, a collection of short stories and a number of non-fiction books under her belt.
Judith Holder has spent most of her life working in the shallow end of TV, producing and originating peak time entertainment, which is another way of saying she's never really had a proper job. She's produced some of the most talented people in the industry including Dame Edna, Clive James, Victoria Wood, and Billy Connolly.
Judith started writing and performing and, in her late forties, came out from behind the curtain to write and produce the huge TV hit Grumpy Old Women. She wrote the best-selling spin off books and started a long and fruitful collaboration with Jenny Eclair which led to them being partners in comedy crime.
Judith now hosts a weekly podcast, Older and Wider, with Jenny, and has co-starred in the live shows on stage.
In 2022, she fulfilled a lifelong ambition and became a grandmother and now spends her time in a village in Oxfordshire with a car full of discarded snacks and a travel potty. Oh, how life changes. For the better.
