Zusammenfassung

What has your endless "yes" been quietly costing you?

If you're the reliable one, the caretaker, the person who always shows up-you may be praised for your generosity while slowly disappearing under the weight of everyone else's needs. In The Boundary Is Love, Dario Quintela offers a warm, plainspoken guide to the honest "no" that makes a genuine "yes" possible.

This is not a book about becoming colder or more selfish. It's about becoming present. Drawing on research into burnout, attachment, and the body's stress signals-and told through real, human stories- The Boundary Is Love shows that limits are not the opposite of love. They are its condition.

Inside, you'll discover:
  • Why chronic over-giving quietly drains your health, time, and emotional stability
  • How to read the signals your body sends long before your mind admits something is wrong
  • Where your boundary patterns came from- family, culture, and old wounds-and how to rewrite them
  • Practical scripts for the conversations you've been avoiding with partners, parents, friends, and bosses
  • How to survive the guilt, fear, and pushback that come after you finally say no
  • Ways to protect your attention, time, and peace in an always-on digital world

Your most meaningful yes only becomes real when no is truly available.

Dario Quintela is an Argentine author and essayist who writes about choice, limits, and what it means to grow up. He studied philosophy and literature at a leading Latin American university and spent several years as a staff columnist at major Spanish-language publications before moving into independent writing. His blog and email newsletter have been translated into a dozen languages and are read by hundreds of thousands of subscribers. From years of observing modern self-help, Quintela arrived at a central insight: an adult is defined not by their "yeses" but by their honest "noes." Out of this came his "Rules of the Honest No," a small set of uncompromising principles for refusing other people's expectations without cruelty. He writes short, conversational books about identity and emotional honesty, and offers a narrow mentoring practice for authors and entrepreneurs.
