You don't have to recover to be whole.

For more than twenty years, Tessi Lynn Ross was the nurse: a master's-educated healthcare leader, fluent in the language of clinical care. Half memoir, half companion, the book moves from the emergency rooms and the Post-COVID-19 Care Clinic, through the four losses she names as functionality, friendships, future, and finances, and then turns practical: pacing and energy management for post-exertional malaise and dysautonomia, the mind-body-spirit practices that helped, a fourteen-point Chronic Illness Checklist, a chapter for family, friends, and caregivers on what to do during a crash, the state of Long COVID and ME/CFS science written for the person living it, and resource appendices. Her faith is Christian, specific, and unforced. It did not remove the grief, she writes, but it gave her somewhere to go.
